Update

This bug was fixed in Patch 1.15.55.

Problem

I get the following error message when I try to save my game

The Game failed to save. Error Code: 533:18217914019454249800

Cause

Unclear, but it could be a corrupt Sim or a Sim with no household (according to Deaderpool)

EA/Maxis is aware of the issue and working on a fix.

Solution

The error can be solved by moving the household out and back in.

  1. Go to the household manager
  2. Move your family out (sell your furniture) and place them on any free lot
  3. Move your family out again (sell your furniture) and place them on the original lot.
  4. Save your game

This is only a temporary workaround until EA/Maxis can fix the actual bug. It does let you save your progress. The error might come back later so save often.
