Error Code 102: Various Numbers / Active Careers

Problem
When I try to load a household I get sent back to the map. I also received the Error: The Game failed to Load. Error Code: 102:<various numbers>. It’s recommended that you relaunch your game.
The numbers after 102 vary for this error. 102 is a rather generic error and also occurs regularly on mod conflicts. If you are playing as a detective or other active careers, chances are high that this is your problem.
Cause
This bug is caused by the detective career. The error occurs while issuing an APB and then travel to another lot. After that it’s impossible to travel to the lot where the detective is on.

Try the solution below to solve the issue. You are then able to load the household without an error.
- Load the faulty save through the Load Button.
- To fix the error you need to remove the detective from their work day without loading the detective themselves. If you have multiple Sims in your household you can just load another and the get the detective home. Otherwise you can just move the Sim out and back in or play another household for a while.
- Go back to the map and load the household with the detective. The detective should no longer be at work and you can load
- Give the Sim a different career.
