Events
Update: The issue seems to be resolved.
EA has identified an issue that prevents some player from seeing the event.
They are working on a solution.
Events are time limited experiences that should ‘sweeten’ the game by giving free rewards and gameplay.
The first event The Happy at Home Login Event is already live for most and gives 8 free rewards for starting the game on at least 8 different days within the given time period. Everyone that doesn’t have it yet will get it in the coming weeks. Everyone will have 5 weeks to get all the rewards.
I put together a short FAQ that hopefully answers the most important questions. I will update it during the coming weeks with new info.
Events are a new platform in the game that will make it easy to claim your rewards.
The first event Happy Home gives reward for starting the game. Later on events are planed that may give you a quest to do that you can explore.
More details can be found here: Events are Coming to The Sims 4.
There will be 8 rewards for the Happy Home event. They will be spread over 4 weeks.
- Bullseye Dartboard
- Night Sky Layered Necklace
- NanoCan & Mini Fridge by Guerdon Goods
- Cool & Compact Bar
- Hairstyle Serenity
- Pure Pillow Clutter for sofa and bed
- Trait: Practice Makes Perfect (learn skills faster)
- Vending Machine by Guerdon Goods & laidback Athleisure Wear.
It’s easy to claim the rewards as long as you have access to the game. All you need to do is start the game and get them from the main menu.
Click on the freezer bunny in the upper left corner to open the pop-up if it doesn’t directly open on it’s own.
You will see when the next reward is available.
Unfortunately the timer for the next reward has two issues and is confusing.
- It always gives you the next day even though the rewards are potentially still looked by the weekly cool down. You need to wait until the week shows unlocked. The weekly timer tells you how long you need to wait.
- That date is in US date format: Month/Day/Year
The event is now live for everyone.
If you still not see them, try these troubleshooting steps
- Do an EA App Recovery: Menu > Help > App Recovery
- Make sure you test without mods/cc
- Delete your Sims Cache files
- Repair your game
Please post here providing the info asked in the first post if you still don’t see them: Happy Login Event not appearing (Past June 13th)
The login event is available since May 30th for PC (EA app, Epic Games, Steam), Mac (EA app, Origin), PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One
According to EA there’s plenty of time even if you come late. All you need to do is login at 8 different days before the end of the 5 weeks.
The weekly cool downs don’t apply if you didn’t participate from the beginning unless you’re caught up.
The goal of the events is that you claim the rewards during the event and after that, you miss out. That’s the theory though as in practice, there’s already CC of the items out there and there are other workarounds to get the items anyways.
There’s a new filter called Special > Event Rewards in both CAS and build mode.
CAS
Choose accessories/hair and filter by event rewards.
Trait
To Follow
Build Mode
Filter by event rewards or search for the names.
I have a slight issue that I need to search for the dart board first before it shows up in the event rewards. Once it’s there, it’s fine even with the filter.
There’s currently also a bug in the game that lets you filter by color as well and then all objects (even not claimed ones) appear.
The unlocked items are saved in the file Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\userSettings(.ini). Because of this it’s very important that you backup this file. If you rename your user folder or play on a different computer you will not see the items. The file needs to be transferred to a new folder/computer because of this.
Items you have placed in your game already are still there if you remove the file. They aren’t being replaced. You can create copies of existing objects but they don’t show in the buy menu anymore. To place them from the buy menu they need to be unlocked.
Downloading through the gallery doesn’t give any troubles. CAS and Build/Buy items appear without issues even if you haven’t unlocked them.
To make sure an issue isn’t mods/cc related, remove them all from your game and test without.
Always either start a new save to test or test on a backup of your save game. All CC will be removed from your save game.
- Open the following folder: Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4
- Select the folder Mods and right-click on Cut.
- Go to your desktop and right-click on Paste
- Delete all cache files (again)

Unlocked items are locally stored in your user folder. You need to copy userSetting(.ini) from the computer where you unlocked the items to your other computer.
More details can be found here.

This can happen if you messed around with your user folder and removed the userSetting(.ini)

It’s currently unclear if that’s all there is too it of if there’s another issue too.
There’s two layers to the event: Daily and weekly. If you unlocked the first three items, you will need to wait until the second week starts to claim the next one.
The timer at the bottom of the pop-up is a misleading.
