Insufficient Memory
Issue
I get the following Error Message when trying to start my game
Your computer has insufficient memory to run The Sims 4 with your currently installed pack(s). This may lead to poor game stability.
Cause
This message has nothing to do with the available disc space on your computer, it’s about your RAM.
The newer expansion packs (after 2017) require 4 GB of RAM to function properly. If you do not fulfill this requirement, you will get the above warning.
On certain systems, you will get this message although you do have 4 GB of RAM installed. Especially integrated AMD graphics chip borrow from your RAM not leaving enough available.
Solution
- The best option is to buy more RAM but check if your laptop/computer is upgradeable and that you buy the right kind. RAM should always be bought in pairs.
- You can also ignore the message and play on. You will probably see game stability issues and that’s due to your computer not having the necessary specs.
- If you’re tech savy enough you can also go to your BIOS and deny the chip some of that RAM. I would not recommend doing that cause that will probably have other performance impact on your game and maybe others as well.
- Uninstall the packs and try get a refund.
