Children are their parents siblings

Update

This bug has been fixed.

Problem

My Sims kids suddenly are not the parents children anymore but their siblings.

Cause

This bug is caused by the cheat cas.fulleditmode.

Solution

You can repair the relationships with a few cheats. You can’t remove any values, only overwrite.

Do the following steps to use the cheat console

  1. Open the cheat console with ctl-shift-c
  2. Enter the cheat you need in the entry box which appeared in the upper left corner of your screen.
  3. Hit ENTER
  4. Repeat steps 2 & 3 for every necessary cheat.
  5. After entering all needed cheats, close the cheat console with ctl-shift-c

family_husband_wife
family_grandchild
family_son_daughter
family_brother_sister
family_grandparent
family_parent

First you need the ID of both your Sims.

You will need the following cheats (repeat for each Sim)

  1. testingcheats true
  2. sims.get_sim_id_by_name <Firstname> <Lastname>

Write down the number you are given. It’s very long.

    Then you can reset your Sims relationships

    • relationship.add_bit <ID Sim 1> <ID Sim2> <relationshipBit>

    Example

    Susan has ID: 775464154248314888

    John has ID: 775464154248314999

    relationship.add_bit 775464154248314888 775464154248314999 family_parent would now make Susan John’s mother.
